"Our Best and Brightest" and “SuperStar” Professional Certification Program:

The Local Government Personnel Association (LGPA) sponsors and hosts a bi-annual awards program to honor “Our Best and Brightest”.

SUPERSTAR PROGRAM

LGPA is pleased to continue its newest initiative, entitled “SuperStar” which is an expansion of “Our Best and Brightest” recognition program.

The objectives of “SuperStar” are to foster professional growth in the Human Resources field,  promote excellence in the public sector and encourage the pursuit of on-going professional development through the attainment of nationally recognized certifications in Human Resources career related areas. We wish to recognize and honor these achievements at the annual awards program.

Recognized Certifications (The list may be expanded without prior notice):

1. International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA)
• IPMA-Certified Professional (IPMA-CP)
• IPMA- Certified Specialist (IPMA-SP)

2. Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM)
• SPHR-Senior Professional Human Resources
• PHR-Professional Human Resources

3.  Other nationally recognized certifications programs that require an examination such as CEBS (Certified Employees Benefits Professional); WorldatWork-CCP (Certified Compensation Professional.

Eligibility: All employees of member jurisdictions who obtain certification during program year.  Those already having certifications are not eligible. Recertifications would also not be eligible.
